The Electrical Supervisor will lead and manage the electrical team, ensuring compliance with SANS standards and health & safety legislation, overseeing electrical infrastructure projects, and maintaining documentation and drawings for all electrical systems and distribution boards. The role demands strong technical leadership, compliance expertise, and project management capabilities. Role and Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, supervise and coordinate the electrical team, ensuring productivity, performance and adherence to standards. Mentor and guide team members, providing technical support and fostering a collaborative work environment. Conduct performance reviews, ensure accountability, and support staff development. Compliance, Standards & Safety Ensure all electrical work complies with SANS standards, relevant codes and statutory requirements. Enforce Occupational Health & Safety regulations and maintain a strong safety culture. Technical Operations Inspect, test, install, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, DBs, and infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and system issues efficiently. Oversee contractor activities for infrastructure projects. Project Management Plan, run and oversee electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, resource allocation and quality standards are met. Coordinate with stakeholders to align project goals. Report on project performance, milestones, and site progress. Documentation & System Drawings Document all electrical systems, equipment and DB layouts accurately. Develop and maintain technical documentation, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Approve or contribute to Certificates of Compliance (CoC). Administrative & Asset Management Complete administrative duties related to maintenance, compliance, safety, project management and reporting. Manage inventory and procurement of electrical materials and equipment. Communication & Collaboration Communicate clearly with teams, suppliers, contractors and management. Represent the electrical department professionally, ensuring reliable support and customer service. Qualifications and Education Requirements Installation Electrician (IE) or Master Installation Electrician (MIE) – required Electrical Trade Test – required Wireman’s License (3-Phase) – required Minimum 7–10 years electrical experience Preferred Skills Strong knowledge of electrical compliance, SANS regulations and CoC requirements. Proficiency in electrical installations, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to interpret and create wiring diagrams, schematics and technical drawings. Project management capability including scheduling, budgeting and coordination. Leadership, communication, teamwork, mentoring, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Computer literacy including MS Office and digital documentation tools. Working Conditions May involve site‑based work, travel, or working at heights.
