Our client, a fast-growing fintech company operating in the digital payments and technology space, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their finance team based in Stellenbosch. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional looking to grow their accounting career within a modern, fast-paced, and innovative business environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day accounting and financial administration functions. Process journals, reconciliations, and general ledger transactions. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow tracking. Support month-end and year-end financial processes. Assist with VAT calculations and submissions. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Prepare and capture financial data on accounting systems. Assist with financial reporting and management accounts preparation. Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2 to 5 years’ accounting or bookkeeping experience. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Experience working on accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. High attention to detail and strong numerical ability. Organised, reliable, and able to work in a deadline-driven environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience within fintech, technology, digital services, or a fast-paced commercial environment will be advantageous. Experience and Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance. Exposure to reconciliations, creditors, debtors, journals, and month-end procedures.
