Responsibilities VIP Security Officer – based in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. What You’ll Do For The Brand VIPs must be present 15 minutes before the branch opens. Branch Manager/Senior Team leader will open the branch in the presence of the VIP Officer. VIP Officer must conduct a perimeter patrol before the branch opens. VIP Officer must check around the premises for any suspicious movements before the branch opens. VIP Officer must be extremely vigilant and alert at all times before opening/closing of the branch and conduct a floor walk once the branch is open to observe that all is in order. VIP Officer must validate all observation checks are completed before the Branch Manager/Senior Team Leader continues with their daily checks. During opening and closing, one VIP must be positioned away from the entrance, observing their colleague and checking for potential danger. Patrolling should include inside and outside the branch entrance, back areas and all parking areas. Ensure all two‑way radios are fully charged for early morning usage and report faulty equipment immediately. Charge the batteries overnight so they are usable from the beginning of your shift. Ensure all panic buttons and two‑way radios are in good working condition and kept safely. VIP Officers must carry their panic buttons, two‑way radios and earpieces to ensure open communication and ease of access in the event of an emergency. The VIP Officer posted to the searching zone must use the scanner to search all guests entering the branch, including team members. Ensure the branch door or gate at the searching zone is always kept closed. VIP Officers are not allowed to cross genders when scanning guests entering the branch. Male guests must be scanned by only male VIP Officers; female guests must be scanned by only female VIP Officers. VIP Officers must search female bags with a stick; male guests are not allowed to bring their own bags. VIP Officer is to direct traffic on the premises and ensure the free flow of foot traffic while controlling the number of vehicles entering and exiting the building. At end of day closing, the VIP Officer must minimise entry by sliding one door closed to ensure security. VIP Officers must attend branch meetings when notified by the Branch Manager. VIPs to assist when receiving stock, doing alarm tests, and submitting a daily report every morning by 10:00 a.m. Guest Service First impressions last – VIP Officers are at the forefront of Hollywood. VIP Officers are the first encounter with the guest. Greet the guest with “Good day, welcome to Hollywood.” Provide good guest service by being friendly, helpful, polite and courteous at all times. Pro‑actively address guest complaints and ensure guest feedback is communicated clearly and positively. Create a guest‑centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile.” Treat guests with respect and maintain a positive attitude at all times. When guests leave the branch, the VIP Officer wishes them a good evening or good night and asks them to return. “Good Bye Sir, please come again.” Compliance VIP Officers must be dressed in full Amadoda uniforms with name badges before the shift begins. (black shoes, black socks and white vest only) Scan all persons entering the premises, including team members. Be observant of guests leaving the branch and identify if they entered with something and are leaving without it. No bags are allowed inside the premises. No weapons/guns are allowed inside the premises, except for an official law‑enforcement officer. No person under the age of 18 is allowed inside the premises. For difficult customers, contact colleagues and press the panic button before the situation escalates. In ranches with no liquor licence, no alcohol is allowed on the premises. Credit bets are not allowed to be taken by any team member. VIP Officers on duty are not allowed to take bets in Amadoda uniforms. VIP Officers on duty are not allowed to use the limited payout machine. Code of Conduct While on duty, you will not sit or lounge, make use of your cell phone or eat. No smoking on duty. You will not report for duty under the influence of alcohol. You will not abandon your post. This may lead to disciplinary action. Sleeping on duty is prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action. You will not have casual conversations with friends or other team members while at your post. You will not accept tips from guests. Values Actively promote the Hollywood values.
