Location: The Watershed, V&A Waterfront – Cape Town Salary: ZAR180,000.00 – ZAR216,000.00 Senior Data Analyst The Role As a Senior Data Analyst at ROAST, you’ll support the delivery of our Data, Analytics and Measurement (DAM) work, partnering closely with the Data & Measurement Lead to provide high-quality analytics and insight. You’ll analyse and communicate data across our client portfolio, enabling robust reporting, media effectiveness measurement, and strategic decision‑making. This role is ideal for a curious, proactive analyst who thrives in a fast‑paced agency environment and is passionate about understanding the impact of marketing. You’ll work across GA4 and GTM implementations, advanced measurement and media effectiveness, data privacy, and dashboarding in Looker Studio. Strong expertise in GA4 and GTM is essential, while experience with CAPI or server‑side tracking is a plus. You’ll be supported by the Data & Measurement Lead and Head of Data & Measurement, with access to ongoing training and development. Responsibilities You will support the delivery of DAM teamwork across two core areas: Web Analytics Your primary responsibility will be helping clients and account teams implement and maintain robust web tracking solutions, ensuring high‑quality data is collected at the right level of granularity to support reporting, measurement, and strategic insight. Conducting audits of GA4 implementations, maintaining and evolving audit checklists as platforms and best practices change Reviewing, setting up, and maintaining GA4 and GTM accounts, including consent mode, form tracking, custom events, enhanced ecommerce, and cross‑domain tracking Supporting media teams with debugging, validation, and implementation of conversion tracking across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, and display partners Working closely with developers on data layer specifications, tracking requirements, and implementation best practices Designing and maintaining intuitive, commercially focused dashboards in Looker Studio Communicating insights clearly through presentations and storytelling, contributing directly to client strategy and internal decision‑making Media Measurement Media measurement covers all analysis beyond standard campaign reporting, which is typically handled by account teams. You will add depth, context, and insight to performance data and help clients understand the true impact of their media investment. Interpreting trends and time‑series data, including regression‑based approaches, to explain relationships between media activity and business outcomes Designing and analysing incrementality tests (e.g. control vs. exposed) to quantify the additional value driven by media Supporting clients in understanding how to allocate and optimise media spend across channels to maximise impact The Candidate You’ll be a confident, enthusiastic individual who communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. 2+ years’ experience in marketing A proven track record of driving growth through advertising campaigns Experience in one or more of the following: media planning (digital and offline), performance marketing (SEM, PPC, SEO), or display A solid understanding of digital marketing and wider marketing mix theory The ability to identify opportunities, generate ideas, and contribute to digital strategy independently Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a desire to learn Excellent communication, organisation, and presentation skills; experience with forecasting, pitching, or commercial input is a plus Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong English grammar Advanced Microsoft Office skills Strong relationship management and stakeholder skills, including direct client interaction Proven ability to manage deadlines and workload effectively A willingness to learn beyond your core specialism and contribute broadly to the business Working at ROAST Location: The Watershed, V&A Waterfront – Cape Town Holidays: 21 days, increasing with length of service, plus Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve off Hybrid working arrangements Additional 2 weeks ‘work from anywhere in the world’ Discounted wellbeing classes / membership Active company social life organised by a staff committee Opportunity for involvement in CSR and charity initiatives Personal development and training Opportunities to learn about other digital disciplines Our hybrid‑working model allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home where possible.
