The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of hands‑on experience in providing haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatment to patients with renal failure. The role requires strong clinical judgment, technical skills, and the ability to provide safe, effective, and empathetic care to patients undergoing dialysis. Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Preparation Conduct pre‑dialysis assessments including vital signs, weight, and access site evaluation. Prepare and educate patients about the dialysis process, dietary restrictions, and fluid management. Review medical records and coordinate care with the nephrologist and multidisciplinary team. Dialysis Treatment Management Set up, prime, and monitor dialysis machines in accordance with unit protocols. Initiate and terminate haemodialysis treatments safely and efficiently. Monitor patients throughout treatment, managing complications such as hypotension, cramps, or access issues. Administer prescribed medications during dialysis as directed. Document treatment parameters, observations, and nursing interventions accurately. Post‑Dialysis Care Assess patients post‑treatment and provide instructions for home care and next sessions. Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of dialysis machines and equipment. Report any abnormal findings or adverse events promptly to the physician. Infection Control & Safety Adhere strictly to infection control and aseptic techniques. Monitor and maintain sterility of all equipment and consumables. Participate in routine quality assurance and audit activities. Requirements Education Diploma or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution. License Registered Nurse (RN) with valid registration from the State/National Nursing Council. Experience Minimum of 3–4 years in a dialysis or nephrology unit. Skills Strong knowledge of haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures. Proficiency in using dialysis machines and water treatment systems. Excellent patient care, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to handle emergencies and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Attributes Certification in Nephrology Nursing or Dialysis Technology. Experience in handling both adult and paediatric dialysis patients.
