The purpose of the Dentist is to deliver high-quality oral healthcare through the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of dental conditions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct comprehensive dental examinations and accurately diagnose oral health conditions Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans tailored to patient needs Perform preventative, restorative, and general dental procedures in line with professional standards Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, and available treatment options Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment Collaborate with oral hygienists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care Ensure clinical practice aligns with ethical and professional standards set by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with dental practices, guidelines, and technologies ROLE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution Completion of compulsory community service in South Africa Active registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in good standing Registration with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and a valid practice number (if applicable) Valid professional malpractice insurance Compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements as prescribed by HPCSA Knowledge of South African dental regulations, infection control standards, and ethical guidelines Good manual dexterity and the ability to work effectively within a clinical team environment Previous private practice experience will be advantageous.
