Job Title: Construction Manager Location: Burgersfort Job Type: 12 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (Onsite) Job Duties Construction Planning & Mobilization Support development and implementation of the Construction Execution Plan (CEP). Provide constructability input during design stages and feasibility reviews. Coordinate site establishment, logistics, and sequencing activities. Ensure alignment of early works with site readiness and HSE requirements. Participate in the Project Initiation Programme and Viability Assessments as required. Scope & Change Management Maintain the Construction Scope Baseline in alignment with design deliverables. Identify construction-related scope changes and assess their impact. Support the Integrated Change Management process. Maintain a Change Register with site-specific updates. Schedule & Progress Control Participate in development and maintenance of the construction schedule aligned to project milestones. Participate in tracking of progress against the baseline and identify deviations early. Provide weekly and monthly reports on: Planned vs actual progress. Work completion percentages. Schedule risks and recovery plans. Cost Awareness & Forecasting Support Support the Project Controls team with field cost data and performance metrics. Monitor construction expenditures and productivity rates. Identify and report on cost overruns and contingency usage. Provide inputs to cash flow forecasting. Quality Management Implement and enforce QA/QC plans for all site works. Conduct and document site inspections and quality audits. Review and sign off on contractor deliverables. Maintain QA Signoff and Construction Documentation Registers. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Ensure site activities comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act and environmental regulations. Conduct toolbox talks, HSE audits and enforce PTW and LOTO systems. Monitor compliance with HSE specifications and maintain HSE registers. Collaborate with HSE consultants and oversee the Health and Safety File. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting Interface with engineering, procurement, project controls, and commissioning. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies. Provide structured site progress reports covering: Construction status. Key risks and mitigations. Site issues and decisions. Financial and resource utilization summaries. Contractor & Workforce Management Manage contractor mobilization and adherence to scope and schedule. Oversee workforce productivity and site discipline. Conduct performance reviews and resolve disputes. Support contractor claims adjudication with relevant documentation. Site Register Management Maintain and regularly update the following Risk Register Issue Register Change Register (construction-specific) QA Signoff Register Decision Register Incident & HSE Compliance Registers Project Close-Out Support Facilitate inspections, punch listing, and testing & commissioning activities. Ensure delivery of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and statutory certificates. Monitor rectification of defects and finalization of the Health and Safety File. Support preparation of the Project Close-Out Report and Final Completion Certification. Required Qualifications Relevant Degree or Diploma Experience 10-15 Years experience as a Construction Manager in the mining environment To plan, execute, and oversee all on-site construction activities in alignment with project objectives, mining regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
