Business Development Manager – Johannesburg. This is a technology group that has done the hard work of building a genuinely integrated data resiliency capability, one that spans cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery under a single commercial roof. Based in Johannesburg with reach into the UK, they are now looking for the person who can take that proposition to market and make it land. If you have spent years selling cybersecurity or backup and DR solutions and find yourself pitching point products when you know customers need outcomes, this role is worth a proper read. You will own the go-to-market strategy for the group’s Data Resiliency proposition across South Africa and the UK. That means pipeline creation, revenue ownership and the kind of senior-level market conversations that require you to be as comfortable in a boardroom discussing ransomware risk as you are in a technical workshop unpacking recovery architectures. This is not a role where someone hands you a playbook. You will be writing it. Working closely with cybersecurity, backup, cloud and infrastructure teams across the group, you will shape solutions, enable account managers and build relationships with strategic technology vendors operating across both regions. You will engage CIOs, CISOs, Heads of IT and Risk leaders, running structured discovery sessions that turn customer risk into a commercial opportunity. What success looks like here is clear: revenue targets met, a repeatable Data Resiliency sales motion adopted across regions, and data resiliency growing into a strategic pillar of the business. Proven background in selling Backup, Disaster Recovery, Cyber Security or Data Protection solutions. Strong understanding of ransomware, cyber recovery, immutable backup and DR architectures. Confidence engaging CIOs, CISOs and senior technical and business stakeholders. Experience operating in a matrix or cross-group sales environment Authorised to work in South Africa. AdvantageousExperience within an MSP, systems integrator or managed services business. Exposure to UK and South African enterprise or mid-market technology buyers. Familiarity with platforms such as Sophos, Mimecast, Veeam, Microsoft, Rubrik, Commvault or Cohesity. Duties and Responsibilities: Own the Group Data Resiliency revenue target, pipeline and forecast across South Africa and the UK. Drive net new business and expansion opportunities in mid-market and enterprise accounts. Define and continuously evolve the Group Data Resiliency go-to-market strategy. Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from discovery through to close. Engage CIOs, CISOs, Heads of IT, Risk and Compliance leaders at the executive level. Run structured discovery and resilience workshops to uncover customer risk and commercial opportunity. Enable and support account managers in identifying and progressing Data Resiliency opportunities. Work closely with cyber, backup, cloud and infrastructure teams to shape robust, joined-up solutions.
