Candidate must have a BSc / B Eng Civil engineering degree Candidate must be professionally registered with ECSA Minimum 7 years post graduate experience in planning, design, implementation and project management of large structural engineering projects Experience in large building structures and civil structures which include but are not limited to offices, hotels, hospitals, clinics, warehouses, water retaining structures, culverts and bridges, mining structures, other engineering structures Good people and communication skills Good marketing skills – assist with growing the structural engineering capability of the company Responsibilities Preliminary and detail design of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures An excellent design / technical skillset is a priority Bridge design and post-tensioned concrete design experience will be an advantage Prepare project proposals, fee proposals and project cost estimates Conduct feasibility studies Write technical reports and technical specifications Assist with project procurement process, i.e. compile tender documentation and write evaluation reports Assist with business planning Manage design/production resources within the design office Liaise and coordinate with other consultants, with clients, parastatals, municipalities and government departments during project planning and implementation Manage / liaise with external contractors and sub-consultants during project planning and implementation Manage the implementation of structural engineering projects, either in isolation or as part of a multidisciplinary team Remuneration Negotiable and based on the candidates' qualifications and years of relevant experience Bigen is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and actively promotes the representation and inclusion of individuals from designated groups, including persons with disabilities.
