Overview Head Chef – Luxury Safari Lodge – Eastern Cape Our client, a prestigious luxury safari lodge in the Eastern Cape, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead their kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative culinary professional with a strong background in 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality environments. The Head Chef will take full responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences that align with luxury lodge standards. This includes menu planning, food preparation, stock control, and maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and presentation. You will lead and mentor the kitchen team, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and creativity across all meals. A strong focus on guest satisfaction is essential, with the ability to cater to diverse dietary requirements and deliver personalised dining experiences for international guests. The role also requires effective cost control, supplier management, and maintaining kitchen systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Responsibilities Take full responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations and delivery of luxury dining experiences. Plan menus, oversee food preparation, and ensure presentation, hygiene, and quality standards at all times. Lead, mentor, and supervise the kitchen team to ensure consistency, efficiency, and creativity across all meals. Cater to diverse dietary requirements and deliver personalised dining experiences for international guests. Manage cost control, supplier relationships, and kitchen systems to ensure smooth operations. Requirements Formal cheffing qualification Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a luxury lodge or 5-star environment Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent knowledge of stock control, food costing, and kitchen administration Ability to work in a remote, high-pressure environment Passion for high-quality, fresh, and seasonal cuisine Strong communication and organisational skills Salary & Location Salary: R30,000 per month Location: Eastern Cape (Live-in position) #J-18808-Ljbffr
