Sandton, South Africa | Posted on 08/27/2025 The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive accounting and taxation support by independently managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. The incumbent will support the Tax Compliance Manager in tax-related matters and collaborate closely with the Finance team to ensure efficient financial management and decision-making across the organization. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE Maintain the general ledger, process journal entries, and perform monthly reconciliations. Prepare and review management accounts, financial schedules, and supporting reports. Assist the Tax Compliance Manager in preparing, reviewing, and submitting VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax returns in line with legislative requirements. Conduct tax reconciliations, ensure accurate records, and highlight areas of risk or discrepancy. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial schedules. Maintain proper filing of financial and tax records for audit and compliance purposes. Support statutory audit processes by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries. Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards, company policies, and regulatory frameworks. Collaborate with the Finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Assist with internal controls and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. Provide ad hoc financial and tax analysis to support business decisions and management reporting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field or equivalent qualification. Professional certification towards (SAIPA, CIBA, SAICA, CIMA, or equivalent) advantageous or in progress. 1–5 years’ relevant accounting and taxation experience with exposure to taxation. Proven experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance. Proficiency in accounting systems and strong MS Excel skills.
