Machine Operator Responsibilities Incumbent must be willing to work additional hours, as and when required, must be mechanically minded and have a sense of urgency about him/her. Adherence to policies and procedures is non‑negotiable. Being part of a team entails additional duties beyond operating machinery. Operate machines according to Standard Operating Procedures Adhere to safety instructions and procedures Adjust machines according to running requirements Maintain supply of packaging material for a quick change‑over Load relevant programs for products. Adjust machine for optimal performance Complete required quality and production control forms Change parts on machines as necessary for different products Ensure correct packaging is used Continuously observe machine functions with respect to Seal integrity, film quality, Adhere to PPE standards Liaise with quality department on quality issues Liaise with maintenance department on mechanical issues Ensure correct information regarding downtime, machine operation, Packaging usage, waste and machine stoppages is noted for further processing. Keep machines clean Keep area surrounding machines clean Identify, Raise and assist in closing potential safety risks and observations Adhere to food safety policies Generate ideas to improve performance. Job Requirements National senior certificate (Matric) Must be medically fit Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment; experience in FMCG, food processing, or packaging industry is an advantage.
