Overview Position reports to the CEO and will be part of the company Exco. Professional Engineering manufacturing company, privately owned. Purpose Of The Position The purpose of this FM position is to be the architect of the company's financial future. The FM will work closely with top management to develop long‑term financial goals and strategies. This includes assessing the company's current financial position, forecasting future trends, and devising plans to achieve financial objectives. By carefully analysing data and economic indicators, he/she will translate operational and Engineering data into strategies that can help management make informed decisions about sustainable growth and manage risks. Primary Responsibilities Preparation and submission of accurate management accounts. Budgeting and variance reports; lead the budgeting process; monitor actual expenditure against the approved budget; report on variances. Compliance & Tax; ensure 100% compliance with SARS deadlines (VAT, PAYE, PROV TAX ETC) in line with company internal tax policies. Audit preparation; manage preparation of audit files, ensure clean, efficient year‑end audit process. Cash management; improve cash flow forecasting and monitor operational cash flow to ensure liquidity. Internal Controls; review and implement necessary internal controls to mitigate financial risk. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for Stores/Warehouse control purposes and train staff to ensure compliance. Team Management: oversee the finance department, including reviewing the work of assisting accountants and creditors. Required to implement Manufacturing Industry Bargaining Council agreements (MEiBC). Oversee and comply with skills development, WSP/ATR submissions and EE Act reporting. Company operates a hybrid working culture; details will be explained at interview stage. Minimum Requirements Must be able to work independently and have previously held a position where they have had final responsibility for company financial processing and reporting. A financial degree with honours will be a minimum requirement, with at least 7+ years hands‑on experience, which includes multi‑branch financial transactions processing as well as an in‑depth knowledge of complex intercompany financial transactions processing. The successful person must have a solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS standards, and be prepared to multi‑task and work extensive hours to meet deadlines when needed. All applications with the correct industry experience will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants who have a certification from SAIPA, CIMA or registrations with the FPI or ICB – highly desirable.
