Buyer | Mining Procurement | Head Office Based A well-established company in the South African mining sector is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team at head office. This role is ideal for a hands‑on procurement professional with strong mining‑sector exposure and proven experience sourcing technical materials and managing supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities Manage and continuously improve the Purchase Order system to ensure accuracy and efficiency Procure materials in line with inventory and operational targets Issue forecasts and purchase orders to suppliers in a timely manner Monitor supplier pricing, service levels, and overall commercial value Lead supplier negotiations and assist with service agreement renewals Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions where required Manage vendor relationships and procurement KPIs Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and operational teams Support broader procurement and supply chain activities as required Non-Negotiable Requirements Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field Minimum 5 years’ procurement/buying experience within the mining industry Strong experience purchasing technical and operational materials (MRO, plant, engineering, and consumables) Proven supplier negotiation and contract management skills Advanced computer literacy and ERP system experience Valid driver’s license Solid understanding of inventory management and materials flow best practices Advantageous Experience using modern ERP systems, particularly procurement and inventory modules Key Competencies Strong commercial acumen Excellent organisational and administrative skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Effective stakeholder management and communication skills Detail‑oriented with a proactive problem‑solving approach Industry Focus Mining Coal Mineral Processing Heavy Industrial Operations #J-18808-Ljbffr
