Duties & Responsibilities 1. Group Financial Reporting and Consolidation: Prepare consolidated monthly financial management reports and assist with preparing financial data for annual financial statements for the group. Review and validate financial submissions (VAT, Income Tax, EMP) from individual entities to ensure accuracy and consistency. Perform consolidation adjustments, including elimination of intercompany balances and transactions. Oversee intercompany transactions and ensuring monthly that the intercompany balances agree, investigate and clear all differences. Assist Financial Manager in daily cash flow for the group, using intercompany loans to ensure sufficient cash flow for each entity. Assist Financial Manager with group audit processes and liaise with external auditors at a consolidated level. Ensure group compliance with IFRS for SMEs and applicable reporting frameworks. 2. Group Financial Governance and Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor group-wide accounting policies and internal control frameworks as designed by management. Oversee compliance of subsidiary entities with group financial governance requirements. Oversee the payment of all creditors of the group. Review monthly journals prepared by the financial department. Review and approve key reconciliations submitted by entity finance teams. Identify control weaknesses and coordinate corrective action across the group. 3. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Group Analysis: Consolidate annual budgets and forecasts submitted by group entities. Prepare group-level variance analysis and performance reporting for executive review. Analyse group profitability trends, liquidity, and capital structures across entities. 4.Taxation, Compliance, and Statutory Oversight: Oversee group-level tax compliance. Monitor statutory deadlines across the group and ensure compliance by all entities. Review entity-level VAT monthly submissions. Prepare income tax, and deferred tax calculations. Maintain consolidated statutory records and ensure alignment with Companies Act requirements. 5. Systems, Processes, and Group Reporting Improvements: Drive standardisation of financial systems and reporting templates across the group. Participate in group-level system implementations or upgrades. Enhance reporting efficiency through automation and process optimisation. 6. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Financial Department, managers, and executives to ensure strong financial performance. Assist the Financial Manager in providing group-level reporting to investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Support Financial Manager with ad hoc consolidated reporting and analysis. 7. Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent. Registered with a recognised Accounting body (SAICA, SAIPA etc). Minimum of 5 years of working with group accounting (with a group with more than 5 entities) together with advance accounting entries. Additional Requirements: Experience in property development and/or management. Experience with property management systems, specifically MRI Property Central. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, particularly relating to group accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with cloud-based technology platforms (e.g., OneDrive, SharePoint) for managing financial data and documents. Package & Remuneration R 45,000 – R55,000 per month CTC (depending on experience)
