Consultant in Cardiology (General Cardiology with interest in Echocardiography and ACHD) This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a full‑time replacement Consultant Cardiologist post (General Cardiology, Echocardiography and ACHD) based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI). The post‑holder will join a team of eleven Cardiologists. The post is located in the Department of Cardiology at ARI, Aberdeen. NHS Grampian serves a population of approximately 620,000 people, including patients from NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland. Key clinical responsibilities include: Commitment to General Adult Cardiology Receiving, currently on a 1:11 basis, with weekend ward rounds. Weekly delivery of three out‑patient clinics, including general Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease clinics (supported by a specialist nurse). Provision of a weekly Trans‑oesophageal Echocardiography list and imaging expertise to the general MDT and TAVI MDT. An interest in stress Echocardiography or Nuclear Medicine is welcomed. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence must be in place prior to starting in post). Candidates trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview. Alternatively, applicants may possess a CESR / CESR (CP). Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register may be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. Locum candidates may then apply for a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register.
