Vacancy: SHEQ Officer – Cape Town, Western Cape Our Client, a leader in the Warehousing and Logistics industry, seeks to appoint an experienced SHEQ Officer to join their dynamic team. The SHEQ Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all instructions are followed by plant workers for quality assurance, and that an effective Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality system is in place and aligned with legislation and the customer’s needs. Applicants must reside in and around the Brackenfell area. Duties & Responsibilities Develop, review and monitor SHEQ objectives and targets. Drive continuous improvement on SHEQ activities. Ensure proper investigation and reporting of all incidents and accidents on site and illness exposure monitoring. Maintain all required records of SHEQ-related activities. Ensure full legislative compliance with the OHS Act and BCEA. Assist staff and contractors in respect of compliance with relevant legislation, client standards and contractual arrangements. Maintain OEE and safety statistics. Ensure safety and compliance processes are followed. Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities. Ensure follow-up and close out on action plan items and issues. Accommodate all 3rd (third) party and governmental department audits and inspections. Maintain and implement ISO standards. Assistance with IFA certification. Conduct scheduled SHE audits of the related locations. Ensure that quarterly safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all employees. Attend and manage Planning and SHEQ meetings. Maintain a list of all non-conformances identified. Report all non-conformances. Proper and timely assessment of risk regarding health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessment. Desired Experience & Qualification Matric (Grade 12). Degree standard or equivalent professional qualification in SHEQ. Significant experience in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality within the operations industry. Experience in managing and developing staff. Excellent physical condition. Excellent coordination abilities (organised). Valid driver’s license. Must be computer literate. Package & Remuneration Market-related salary.
