Job Summary Safari JOBS is searching for a dedicated field professional to join a global leader in nature-based training as an Assistant Instructor / Facilitator. The role involves facilitating accredited wilderness education programs across remote camps in Limpopo and Mpumalanga, supporting curriculum delivery, assessment, and camp operations. Responsibilities Assist in the delivery of professional, immersive field-based training aligned with company curriculum. Facilitate practical training sessions, guided activities, and selected lectures under the guidance of the Head Instructor. Support the administration of assessments, evaluations, and academic records. Assist with day‑to‑day running of a remote training camp, including care of infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment. Support firearms and ammunition management in compliance with South African legislation, including safe handling and record‑keeping. Provide operational liaison with reserve management and landowners as required. Mentor and guide students, especially during practical activities, and support their professional development. Participate in personal development and mentoring aimed at progressing within the company’s instructional pathway. Qualifications Clear criminal record. Excellent employment track record; references will be verified. Excellent English fluency and literacy. Minimum of 5 years professional guiding experience within Southern Africa. Valid FGASA aligned Field Guide qualification. Demonstrated interest or experience in training, mentoring or assessment support. Experience working within a high-end safari or conservation environment. Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP). Working knowledge of South African wildlife legislation, safety standards, and best practice. Relevant qualifications: NQF Level 4 Nature Guide / FGASA Field Guide / VPDA qualification or willingness to obtain; Trails Guide qualification or equivalent. Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for teaching and mentorship. Good communication and facilitation ability. High levels of professionalism, reliability, and integrity. Willingness to learn, grow, and take guidance from senior instructors. Commitment to upholding the company values and standards at all times.
