Back to Search Kariega Job Description Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Boiler Maker for its Feedmill operations in the Agriculture division. This role is responsible for mechanically maintaining plant and equipment to ensure maximum availability and throughput for feed production. The position reports directly to the Senior Fitter and holds the TASK Grade T10. An ideal candidate must have a Boiler Maker trade test and experience in feed milling equipment maintenance and utilization will be an advantage. A minimum of 3 years post qualification, hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience is required, preferably in a feed mill. Responsibilities Attend to mechanical breakdowns. Carry out preventative maintenance. Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations. Report all unsafe working conditions. Complete all job cards. Ensure good housekeeping. Attend to boiler and compressor. Attend to call-outs. Qualifications Effective application of technical and professional knowledge. Very high quality of work standards. Strong self‑motivation. Initiative and ability to work without being prompted. Highly adaptable to changes in the working environment at all times. A hands‑on approach. Excellent communication skills. Attitude and behaviour that contribute to team success. Team player. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
