Job Purpose To lead and manage the automatic transmission workshop, ensuring high-quality repairs, efficient operations, and strong team performance while meeting productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction targets. Key Responsibilities 1. Workshop Operations Management Oversee daily workshop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and job allocation Monitor turnaround times and ensure jobs are completed within agreed deadlines Maintain high standards of workmanship on all automatic gearbox repairs 2. Technical Oversight Provide expert guidance on automatic transmission diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds Support technicians with complex fault-finding and technical challenges Ensure all repairs meet OEM and company quality standards 3. Team Leadership & Supervision Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians and workshop staff Monitor productivity, attendance, and performance levels Conduct training, coaching, and skills development where required 4. Quality Control Perform final checks on completed jobs before delivery Ensure minimal comebacks and maintain high customer satisfaction Implement continuous improvement processes within the workshop 5. Customer & Stakeholder Management Liaise with service advisors and customers regarding job progress and technical queries Handle escalations and ensure professional resolution of customer concerns 6. Health & Safety Compliance Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment 7. Stock & Resource Management Oversee usage of parts, tools, and equipment Work closely with parts department to ensure availability of required components Control wastage and manage workshop costs effectively 8. Reporting & Performance Management Track and report on workshop KPIs: Productivity Efficiency Comebacks Turnaround times Provide regular feedback to management Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a Workshop Manager / Foreman in an automatic transmission or automotive workshop Strong technical knowledge of automatic gearboxes and diagnostics Leadership experience managing a team of technicians Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Valid driver’s license Advantageous Trade Test (Motor Mechanic / Transmission Specialist) Experience in gearbox rebuilds and advanced diagnostics Previous experience within a high-volume workshop environment Key Competencies Leadership & team management Technical expertise Attention to detail Customer focus Results-driven mindset #J-18808-Ljbffr
