Purpose of role Working closely with the Head of OH Operations, Senior/Lead OHAs and other clinical and non-clinical team members, the purpose of this role is to provide an onsite and remote full Occupational Health remit. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will work both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of the larger Occupational Health team, managing your own work and supervising and supporting the efficient running of the Occupational Health provision to the client. You will form strong relationships with key stakeholders and help to support and plan other OH services including technician, OHP, and offsite services such as counselling and physiotherapy. The role will also require remote case management for various clients depending on business need. Duties and responsibilities Undertake an agreed workload on a day-to-day basis, ensuring efficient time management and use of resources across the wider team Provide evidence-based, clear, and concise advice to the client on Occupational Health matters Follow Occupational Health policies, standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure effective service delivery Work as an independent nurse and continue professional development in line with NMC validation Assess and manage medical referrals to facilitate corporate attendance management procedures Maintain strong knowledge of workplaces, hazards, workers, and individual health conditions Confidently consult with HR, employees, and representative organisations regarding health, safety, and wellbeing issues Contribute to health promotion campaigns and attend meetings, consultations, and committees as appropriate Maintain practice standards in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council professional standards, legislation, and best practice Maintain record systems in accordance with legislation and organisational requirements Support additional responsibilities appropriate to the role and service Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2 years' experience in Occupational Health Previous OH experience required, including up-to-date knowledge of applicable legislation, best practice principles, and regulatory requirements Post-registration qualification in Occupational Health – diploma or degree (advantageous) Successful track record of providing Occupational Health advice, guidance, and support to managers and employees including: Complex case management Pre-employment assessments Sickness absence management Rehabilitation Work-related health issues Proactive health interventions Experience advising HR staff, line managers, and employees Technical Skills Good proficiency in producing clear, legible, and concise case notes and reports Personal Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly Ability to interact with key stakeholders confidently and professionally across meetings, conferences, and client events Dedicated to understanding customer needs and delivering service excellence Ability to build strong working relationships for business benefit Methodical approach with a strong focus on quality and commercial awareness Detail-oriented and highly professional Location and hours Cape Town/ Johannesburg - Hybrid 09h00 – 18h00 / 10h00 – 19h00 #J-18808-Ljbffr
