This role blends property management with student engagement, ensuring the residence operates smoothly while fostering a strong sense of community. Operational Management Oversee day-to-day management of the residence, including maintenance, cleaning, and security Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations Manage lease agreements, check‑ins/outs, and room allocations Monitor occupancy rates and coordinate with marketing to fill vacancies Community Engagement Supervise the planning and execution of social, cultural, and educational events Event budgeting and financial oversight Student Life Intern management, training and oversight (weekly meetings) SLI appointment process (application, interview and appointment, followed up by training) Build relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders Promote inclusivity and diversity through programming and outreach Mediate conflicts and support peer‑to‑peer resolution Act as a first point of contact for student concerns and emergencies Incident management, reporting and follow‑up Case management records and formal recording of all support interactions Support interactions and counselling conversations to address issues and assess referral options Mediation of roommate disagreements Liaise with mental health and academic support services Implement feedback systems to improve student experience Uphold residence rules and disciplinary procedures with fairness Student Communication Create, maintain and oversee WhatsApp groups for all residents Publish communications on community matters, resident education, events as well as operational posts regarding maintenance matters Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate records of student data, incidents, and maintenance logs Prepare monthly reports on occupancy, budget, and community activities Assist with budgeting and cost control for residence operations Requirements Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Education, Hospitality, Business or Property Management More than 5 years’ experience in student housing, hospitality, or community development First Aid certification and valid driver’s license preferred Familiarity with South African student housing regulations and NSFAS policies is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
