Bryanston, South Africa | Posted on 26/03/2026 We are looking for an Atmospheric Sciences Intern to join our team and gain hands‑on experience in air quality, atmospheric modelling and environmental noise assessments within a dynamic consulting environment. This internship offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists while contributing to real projects involving air quality monitoring, dispersion modelling and environmental impact assessments. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with and gain exposure to: Undertaking air dispersion modelling using software such as AERMOD and CALPUFF Developing emission inventories using project data, performance guarantees or emission factors Supporting site visits and fieldwork, including the development and setup of ambient air quality monitoring networks Reviewing emission test reports and protocols Assisting with planning, coordinating and executing field‑related tasks for air quality monitoring programmes Supporting the preparation of: Air quality monitoring reports Air quality impact assessments Air quality management plans Odour assessments Assisting with emissions licence applications Supporting grid noise mapping, noise prediction and mitigation modelling Contributing to environmental noise surveys, impact studies and reporting Assisting with environmental noise impact assessment auditing Coordinating inputs across projects and supporting delivery within tight deadlines Liaising with clients, project teams and regulatory authorities Contributing to the continuous improvement of services within the atmospheric sciences team Participating in field work in demanding environmental conditions Requirements BSc or Honours degree in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Meteorology, Environmental Engineering, Acoustic Engineering or a related field Strong interest in air quality, atmospheric modelling and environmental monitoring Willingness to participate in fieldwork and travel when required Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills Working knowledge of ArcGIS (Desktop or Pro, QGIS) and environmental modelling software (Sound Plan) Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team What You’ll Gain Practical experience with industry‑leading modelling tools Exposure to air quality and environmental noise consulting projects Mentorship from experienced environmental specialists Insight into working within a professional environmental consulting environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
