The Role We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Land Manager, Africa, responsible for the management of the Company’s African mining tenement holdings and securing mineral and surface interests to support the company’s immediate and long‑term objectives. The role will be accountable for acquiring and maintaining land and other rights, securing and managing land‑related agreements, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, and managing internal and external stakeholder partnerships. The role will also play a key part in driving the implementation of the global risk governance framework, leading Africa strategy and innovation, and spearheading high‑impact special projects as they emerge. The Key Responsibilities Coordinate with regional functions to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of all legislative and contractual obligations related to the Company’s mining tenements and related agreement interests across Africa. This includes overseeing required Government filings, reporting, payments, and other compliance activities to maintain the Company’s mineral and surface rights in good standing. Provide comprehensive tenement management expertise, strategic advice and direction to the business on mineral and surface interests across Africa to support the Company’s operational and exploration objectives. Manage the Company’s tenement and spatial property records and lead the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of the Company’s land management database and related GIS initiatives, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards and accurately reflect the Company’s interests. Lead the design and implementation of frameworks and systems that harmonise surface (land use and ownership) rights with subsurface (mineral) rights across the African jurisdictions. Contribute to the creation, enhancement and delivery of the Company's global land governance and risk management strategy, special projects and other Corporate‑led initiatives, as needs arise. Foster communication between Africa Business Unit and corporate Group Strategic Planning, Legal, Exploration, Finance and Corporate Development departments to ensure that regional endeavours are aligned and consistent with global policies, procedures, and expectations. Support Africa regional functions in negotiating with third parties, including government entities, indigenous communities, landowners, and other interest holders, to secure surface and subsurface land rights required for exploration, mining, processing, reclamation/closure and other activities, to enable the Company to effectively explore and develop its mineral resources. Working with regional teams, develop, monitor, and maintain knowledge of competitor‑owned lands, and interests in land, located adjacent or near Company’s mines and projects. Oversee the completion of tenement title and spatial due diligence sufficient for the scope of the transaction and the investment and revenue risk to the Company, associated with acquisitions, leases and property rights. Education & Qualifications Undergraduate Degree in Law, Land Economy, Surveying, or other relevant field required. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experience Minimum of 10 years of land management and related experience Proficient in GIS and Mapping skills Proficient in Land Management software systems, such as Landfolio Knowledge of multiple Africa regional mining laws, Mining Cadasters, and mining and environmental procedure, and political environments Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and database (e.g., ArcGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, and others) Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong ability to forge professional relationships with colleagues and government agencies Strongly motivated to excel in complex operating environments Ability to travel on a regular basis Maintain Confidentiality Licensed to operate a vehicle Will be required to travel The Rewards Based in Johannesburg, this position offers a permanent contract with a competitive remuneration package. #J-18808-Ljbffr
