THE OPPORTUNITY THAT AWAITS YOU A large, highly respected organisation within the financial and regulatory environment is strengthening its enterprise data capabilities and is seeking an experienced Data Quality Specialist (12 Month Initial Contract) to support this journey. This role sits within a broader enterprise information management programme focused on treating data as a strategic asset. You’ll play a key role in improving data management maturity, supporting reliable decision‑making, and ensuring that data is governed, protected, and used appropriately across the organisation. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Drive the continuous improvement of data management practices, tools, and processes Support enterprise data capabilities, including governance, quality, and metadata management Design and implement processes, procedures, and technologies for managing complex datasets Perform data assessments, analysis, consolidation, and cleansing Define, develop, enhance, and maintain datasets supporting multiple business processes Evaluate datasets for consistency, completeness, and accuracy, taking corrective action where required Provide technical input across enterprise‑wide data initiatives Collaborate with stakeholders to promote effective data usage and support informed decision‑making Participate in cross‑functional data‑related initiatives Exposure to enterprise data management disciplines, including data governance, reference and master data management, data quality and metadata management, data modelling and architecture, data warehousing, business intelligence, data integration, and data security and operations. To profile data assets, based on defined data quality dimensions relevant to the business process or problem, such as accuracy, completeness, consistency, reliability and timeliness. To assess the level to which data is fit for purpose for its intended use and remediate any data quality shortcomings as per data quality thresholds. To assess the business impact of the identified data quality issues to determine the significance of the problems to business operations. To conduct root‑cause analysis to identify data quality issues in order to address the challenges at the source. To conduct an assessment on data quality maturity levels within the organisation against best practices. To monitor, measure and compare the Data Quality assessment results against the data requirements. To define and implement data quality measurements and metrics for the critical data elements to support reliable decision‑making. To monitor, measure and report the data quality levels to create the necessary awareness and understanding of the reliability of data. To enable the improvement of the data quality levels by means of guiding and training data owners, data stewards and data users in all aspects of data quality management (e.g., definition of data quality business rules, data quality service levels, profiling, analysis and assessment of data quality) To remediate data quality issues to limit the recurrence of the data quality issues. To develop and manage stakeholder relations effectively to promote data quality awareness across the organisation and support reliable decision‑making. To develop and maintain reporting dashboards, issue tracking, and monitor the technical status of the data quality. To develop reports pertaining to data quality management and associated activities. To drive the automation of data quality management processes and functions. OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent 5–8 years’ experience in a data management environment Strong experience across the enterprise data management discipline Experience working with complex, large‑scale datasets. Strong data analysis, validation, and data quality skills. Ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
