Program Overview This Graduate Internship Programme is a Western Cape Government Health and Wellness initiative that provides unemployed qualified youth with the opportunity to gain work experience. The programme aims to enhance employment opportunities, allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, address skills shortages, and support qualified persons in becoming employable. Selected candidates will receive a stipend (allowance) and continuous on‑the‑job training and development through a dedicated mentor. Who Can Apply? Anyone who resides in the Western Cape, is a South African citizen with a valid South African ID, and already holds a qualification may apply. Internship Program Details 12 months duration with a monthly stipend regulated by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), equivalent to the intern’s NQF‑level qualification. A dedicated, experienced mentor assigned throughout the internship period. 12 months of practical work‑integrated learning. Benefits of Being an Intern Continuous exposure to job training and development, enhancing eligibility for public sector posts and private sector opportunities. Mentorship by an experienced staff member. Eligibility for internal and external posts advertised during and after the internship.
