Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Mechanical Design and Controls Design teams Oversee machine design, development, and continuous improvement initiatives Drive Research & Development projects aimed at improving machine efficiency, performance, and cost savings Manage project timelines, budgets, costings, and resource allocation Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications Assist production and assembly teams with technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis Manage customer technical requirements, upgrades, retrofits, and spares projects Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to ensure successful project execution Ensure compliance with quality standards, health & safety regulations, and company procedures Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams Train, mentor, and support engineering staff and interns Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements Support business growth through innovation, product development, and improved engineering solutions Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field Minimum 35 years experience in a similar engineering management role Previous experience managing engineering or technical teams Strong project management and budgeting experience Solid understanding of manufacturing, machine design, automation, and production processes Proficient in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Strong technical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure Willingness to travel when required
