Job Description Sales Consultants at Sage drive new customer acquisition and migration opportunities for Sage Intacct Essentials in a direct sales environment. This role focuses on identifying, qualifying, and converting prospects through a consultative sales approach, building trusted relationships with decision makers, and aligning solutions to customer business needs. Given the high visibility of this role, you will collaborate across teams, including sales, marketing and pre‑sales, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic initiatives across the business. Location: Midrand, Johannesburg (Hybrid: Minimum 3 days per week on-site) Day-to-day responsibilities Identify, target, and qualify new customer acquisition and migration opportunities. Proactively engage prospects through outbound calling, email, digital outreach, and follow‑up on marketing‑generated leads. Lead or support product demonstrations, commercial proposals, and solution presentations tailored to prospect needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers, influencers, and stakeholders throughout the customer journey. Maintain accurate, complete, and current pipeline, activity, and customer records in Salesforce. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the relevant product, market and processes. First 90 days snapshot Build strong product knowledge through structured training on features, benefits, and use cases. Participate in ongoing training sessions to strengthen sales capability, product expertise, and internal system knowledge. Initially work on‑site full‑time; transition to a hybrid model (minimum 3 days per week) based on performance and target achievement. Who you’ll be working with You will form part of a new team of three Sales Consultants tasked with scaling Sage Intacct Essentials in AME, and will report to a Sales Manager for Indirect Sales and ISV, a proven leader with a strong track record of growth within the organisation. Minimum qualifications 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast‑paced B2B software environment. Experience working within SaaS or subscription‑based business models. A certification on Sage Intacct Essentials would be advantageous. Strong forecasting and pipeline management skills in Salesforce. Ability to identify customer needs and clearly articulate the value of cloud accounting solutions. Comfortable influencing stakeholders without formal authority. Clear and concise communication skills, particularly when engaging with senior stakeholders.
