We are seeking a Lead Civil & Structural Engineer to lead civil and structural design activities, manage engineering teams, and ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions for mining and process plant projects. This role is located in Johannesburg . Job Responsibilities Lead civil and structural engineering design for mining and industrial projects. Manage and support a team of engineers and designers. Oversee design deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure designs meet safety standards, codes, and client requirements. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process, electrical, project management). Interface directly with clients and provide technical guidance. Support project planning, cost estimates, and schedules. Review vendor documentation and technical submissions. Qualifications And Skills Requirements Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field). Minimum 12 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering within mining, heavy industry, or infrastructure. Experience in an EPCM, consulting, or design office environment. Professional registration (or working towards it). Strong knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulations.Proven leadership and team management experience. Experience with earthworks, foundations, concrete and steel structures. Mining-related infrastructure such as materials handling, plant layouts, or tailings facilities. Experience across project study phases (concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility). Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality design. Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safety and best practices.
