Audit Manager (6-Month Contract) Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng Contract Position (6 Months) Market Related (Based on qualifications and experience) Immediate Start Preferred Synergy Chartered Accountants Global is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will lead and manage a portfolio of external, internal, and forensic audit engagements across a diverse client base spanning JSE‑listed companies, financial services institutions, SMEs, and businesses in the energy and infrastructure sectors. This role requires a technically strong CA(SA) who is comfortable leading teams, engaging directly with clients and partners, managing multiple concurrent engagements, and contributing to the growth of the firm through business development. Please note: While this is initially a 6-month contract position, there may be potential for extension or consideration for a permanent role based on business requirements and individual performance. Key Responsibilities Lead external, internal, and forensic audit engagements end-to-end — from planning and risk assessment through to finalisation and reporting Manage, mentor, and develop audit team members across engagements Serve as primary client contact, building and maintaining strong professional relationships Report audit findings, risks, and recommendations directly to Partners and senior leadership Drive business development — identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships and convert new business Ensure compliance with ISA, IFRS, and applicable South African regulatory frameworks Review and sign off on working papers, audit files, and financial statements Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, quality standards, and team processes Support month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting processes where required Minimum Requirements CA (SA) — mandatory 4–7 years of post‑qualification audit experience Proven experience leading and managing audit engagements and audit teams Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and ISA Experience across external audit; internal audit and/or forensic audit exposure is advantageous Track record of managing multiple engagements and client portfolios concurrently Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining quality Advantageous Experience serving listed companies, financial services, or energy/infrastructure clients Exposure to forensic investigations or dispute‑related engagements Business development track record or demonstrated commercial awareness Familiarity with CaseWare, Draftworx, or equivalent audit software Prior experience in a mid‑tier or Big Four environment To apply, please submit your CV to using "Audit Manager" as the email subject line.
