Overview Are you an experienced engineering professional in the Conveyor and Materials Handling field looking to spearhead impactful projects and drive technical innovation? NEPEAN Conveyors is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead our technical developments and design solutions in Africa. What You Will Do Lead project activities to deliver high-quality engineering scope on time and within budget. Fields ranging from Bulk material handling (conveyors, chutes, storage etc.), machine design, retrofitting, and structural designs. Design lifecycle levels to range from Studies to executions, finding place in either greenfield or brownfields. Responsibility of the project lifecycle is from concept, design phase, execution, manufacturing, and commissioning. Undertake critical supporting calculations for mechanical and structural design elements. Develop designs from Concept to IFC stage. Supervise and direct professional technical staff, outlining work and reviewing technical accuracy. Provide expert technical assistance during project installation, commissioning, and handover. Collaborate with draughting resources using the latest Engineering Tools Collaborate with our in-house manufacturing team to optimize designs for manufacturing. Assist with on-site troubleshooting, commissioning, and general assistance. Manage and contribute with external sub-contractors for specialised service deliveries. What We Are Looking For A Degree in Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience in a similar design engineering role Extensive experience in Conveyor Mechanical and Structural design is a primary requirement Machine design experience is a requirement A motivated drive for continuous improvement and developing additional or new value additions Strong proficiency in Engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Sidewinder and Vault as a minimum Exceptional attention to detail Outstanding organizational skills with a proven ability to manage design resources and meet strict deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact seamlessly with managers and cross-functional teams A deeply ingrained safety culture Why Join NEPEAN?
