About the job Westmead - Commercial Workshop Foreman Westmead Commercial Workshop Foreman 3 Month Contract to Possible Permanent Position Key Responsibilities Supervising workshop staff and resources to ensure customers receive quality service, maintenance, and repair on time. Creating an environment that ensures the health and safety of employees and contractors. Ensuring repairs and maintenance of vehicles, trailers and mobile equipment are carried out according to technical specifications and approved standards. Ensuring all service, maintenance and repair jobs follow good work procedures. Maintaining a safe work environment and safety record. Ensuring company procedures are followed and maintaining good customer relations. General coordination and planning of workshop activities. Managing and updating the workflow in the workshop. Examining trucks, trailers, and equipment to identify correct problems, repairs needed, and additional work. Completing required work orders detailing work to be done, parts/spares needed and time required. Distributing work based on employee capabilities and agreed completion times. Ensuring asset and parts registers are current and accurate. Monitoring performance of team members to ensure efficiencies are achieved. Motivating staff to maximize productivity. Monitoring timekeeping and absenteeism. Handling staff problems and queries. Conducting safety information meetings. Ensuring housekeeping and SHEQ standards through complete safety and health inspection reports. Ensuring all repairs are carried out according to procedure and vehicle requirements. Ensuring sufficient spares are available for efficient maintenance of vehicles. Ensuring all vehicles are returned in a clean and hygienic state. Conducting quality checks on all repaired units to maintain service standards. Providing technical expertise and assistance. Coordinating production start‑ups, shutdowns and changeovers. Planning daily and future jobs. Controlling workshop stock and reporting major variances. Ordering materials required to maintain operations, including oil, grease and cleaning supplies. Receiving materials and ensuring quality and quantity are correct. Controlling workshop vehicles and performing daily inspections. Ensuring estimates are correct, accurate and approved. Following up on orders for estimates, converting all estimates within 7 days. Ensuring jobs are carried out as specified with time strictly controlled. Maintaining workflow to prevent work in progress from aging beyond 7 days. Reporting and recording faults with all workshop equipment. Recording staff working hours and reporting thereof. Assisting in accident and incident investigations. Maintaining administrative systems accurately. Managing service records and schedules. Providing audit reports as requested. #J-18808-Ljbffr
