Assistant Reservations Manager Salary: R37,000 – R40,000 (DOE). Opportunity for an experienced and detail-driven Assistant Reservations Manager to join a leading luxury property group in Cape Town. This role combines hands‑on travel design, team leadership, systems oversight and commercial performance responsibility, ensuring seamless guest journeys and operational excellence across all reservations channels. Key Responsibilities Travel Design & Guest ExperienceDesign and curate high‑end itineraries for B2B and B2C luxury guests Support Travel Designers in delivering seamless guest journeys Maintain expert destination and product knowledge across all properties Review complex bookings for feasibility and guest alignment Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities Approve discounts within authorised limits and ensure compliance Step into full managerial responsibility in Head of Reservations’ absence Book flights and third‑party travel services where required Manage peak season inventory and availability strategically Booking Performance & Revenue ControlMonitor booking pace, occupancy and availability trends Support tactical offers and promotional strategies Track cancellations and implement mitigation strategies Ensure rate integrity and compliance with discount policies Contribute to revenue performance targets and commercial reporting Team Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, mentor and support Reservations team members Conduct quality control audits on bookings and communications Provide coaching, feedback and performance support Assist with onboarding and training programmes Manage team scheduling and workflow distribution Handle escalated client and agent queries professionally Systems & Process GovernanceEnsure accurate use of PMS, CRM and booking systems Maintain CRM hygiene and pipeline accuracy Oversee rate loading and system integrity across platforms Ensure audit‑ready documentation and SOP compliance Identify and improve operational inefficiencies Support automation and process optimisation initiatives Financial & Compliance OversightMonitor deposits, payments and outstanding balances Liaise with Finance on reconciliations and queries Support margin awareness and responsible discounting Assist with weekly and monthly reporting Customer Retention & Service ExcellenceManage guest itineraries and resolve travel issues proactively Handle guest complaints efficiently and professionally Maintain guest communication pre‑, during and post‑travel Experience & Qualifications Experience in luxury hospitality, safari or high‑end travel reservations (essential) Strong leadership or supervisory experience advantageous Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to meet performance and sales targets Strong organisational and problem‑solving ability Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with ResRequest, Safari Portal, HubSpot advantageous Key Competencies Strong customer service and relationship‑building ability Commercially aware with a sales‑driven mindset Creative, proactive and solutions‑focused Calm and professional under pressure Strong negotiation and coordination skills Passion for luxury travel and guest experience excellence #J-18808-Ljbffr
