About the role Impact and ESG is core to how we invest and work with our borrowers at Lendable. To support our growth, we are now seeking an Impact & ESG Support Contractor to support projects in coordination and research across Lendable’s impact and ESG functions. As a contractor in this role, you will support the work of the Impact function, reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Impact & ESG, assisting with data collection and analysis, reporting, research, and communications. You will collaborate with investment, risk, and operations teams to ensure impact and ESG considerations are integrated across processes. In this role, you will demonstrate your integrity in ensuring Lendable stays true to our impact mission. You will deploy good judgment in your analysis of transactions, our systems and in dealings with internal and external stakeholders and rigorous communication in how you compellingly communicate Lendable’s impact. Responsibilities: Contribute to impact, ESG, and client protection analysis on transactions, including reviewing borrower policies and practices. Monitor and track borrower commitments (e.g. Environmental & Social Action Plans, client protection obligations) and ensure follow‑through. Work with data and engineering staff to turn borrower data into clear dashboards and insights (e.g. gender‑disaggregated reporting, portfolio trends, risk flags). Support the end‑to‑end process of reporting: from analysing data to drafting narratives, validating accuracy, and preparing polished investor‑facing reports. Contribute to the development and application of impact and ESG measurement methodologies (e.g. income measurement, SME gender assessment, GHG Emissions Measurement). Help improve frameworks, policies, and tools, ensuring alignment with global best practices and investor standards. Establish and coordinate governance structures such as the Impact Steering Committee, preparing materials, escalations, and follow‑ups. Contribute to external engagement by preparing materials for conferences, publications, and studies. Coordinate with technical assistance providers to ensure projects are targeted, aligned, and delivered effectively. Required Experience: 3–5 years in ESG/impact roles (international development consulting, DFI, banks, PE/credit funds or related fields). Familiarity with leading frameworks such as the IFC Performance Standards, Task Force for Climate Related Disclosures, Client Protection Principles, IRIS+, 2X, or similar. Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate frameworks into actionable guidance. Experience working with data outputs and dashboards, ideally in collaboration with technical teams. Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality written outputs (reports, presentations, case studies). Strategic thinker who can translate frameworks into tools and actions. Genuine interest in building systems and processes Comfortable working with Excel, PowerPoint, and data management tools. Capabilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics. Proficiency in data processing, analytics, and reporting; working knowledge of AI tools and automation is a plus. Skilled at creating visual outputs such as decks, reports, and summaries that communicate effectively. Strong project management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple workstreams.
