A well known ICT consulting firm based in JHB North is looking for a Technical Sales Manager What the role is accountable for The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing customer relationships across the energy and connectivity clusters. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to position solutions, respond to customer needs, and influence decision-making. Acts as a trusted advisor, supporting the full sales cycle. Business Development & Revenue Growth - Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in the Energy and Connectivity sectors. - Develop strategic account plans for key clients and providers. - Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. - Build and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive market engagement. Technical Selling & Solution Design - Lead technical discussions with customers to understand requirements and propose tailored solutions. - Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to regarding customer requirements and specifications Customer Relationship Management - Build strong relationships with decision‑makers, influencers, and project stakeholders. - Conduct customer training, product demonstrations, and solution workshops. - Manage post-sales follow-up and ensure customer satisfaction. Market & Industry Intelligence - Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities in the Energy and Connectivity landscape. - Provide insights to internal stakeholders regarding customer needs, technology shifts, and emerging opportunities. - Represent the organisation at industry forums, conferences, and exhibitions. Proposal & Tender Management - Ensure accuracy and compliance of technical documentation. - Support commercial negotiations, including pricing and contract terms. Governance, Reporting & Compliance - Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasting. - Ensure compliance with sales processes and quality standards. - Prepare weekly and monthly reports for leadership. - The employee is accountable for fulfilling assigned OH&S responsibilities, complying with legal and ISO 45001 requirements, and exercising authority to stop or report unsafe work that may impact occupational health and safety. Qualifications & Experience we look for Essential Qualifications: - Grade 12 certificate or equivalent - Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Telecommunications) / Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Marketing, or related. - Sales Certificates. Preferred Qualifications: - Postgraduate qualification in Business Management or equivalent. - Certifications related to UPS systems (e.g., Certified UPS Technician, electrical safety certifications) - 5 years experience in technical sales within the Energy or Connectivity sectors. - 10 years technical sales experience. - B2B sales experience in the IT/OT, Wireless/Digital critical communications fields, Connectivity and Energy sectors. - Experience with tender processes. - Proven track record in selling complex solutions to large enterprise or industrial clients. - Familiar with CRM tools and digital prospecting platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Salesforce) - Understanding of UPS and batteries (VRLA and Lithium-Ion) technologies, including online, offline, and line-interactive systems. - Preferred to have related work experience in Sub-Sahara African countries.
