About The Role Location: South Africa Department: SE GT SV EU&AF SEF Mode of Employment: Permanent Position Title: Head of Grid Technologies Service Southern and Eastern Africa A Snapshot of Your Day In this influential and dynamic role, you will lead the activities of the Grid Technologies (GT) Service Southern and Eastern Africa team. Working closely with your team, your responsibilities will include developing and implementing the GT SV strategy and action plan in the region, driving continuous improvements in project execution, fostering collaboration with other Execution Units and Functions, and actively contributing to business growth. Your role is instrumental in making our Service business a value creator for the Business Area and contributing dynamically to GT discussions and topics. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, communication, and partnering skills, outstanding stakeholder management, excellent business acumen, and a solid entrepreneurial, hands‑on profile to continue to grow and develop our Southern Africa business for GT SV. How You’ll Make An Impact Develop and implement a GT service strategy and action plan to ensure business growth and profitability in the region. Apply the right portfolio elements with a clear value proposition aligned to customer needs and market trends, strongly connected to market approach, and a proactive sales mindset. Effectively manage the GT SV Southern Africa organization to achieve the planned financial performance, building on collaboration with other Execution Units and Functions, and making GT SV a value creator for GT. Actively develop a diverse and competent team capable of working globally across regions and hubs, effectively working on service activities. Ensure the highest standards of safety and business integrity by actively supporting our Zero Harm program and living our compliance culture. Support the global strategy of GT and GT SV and be an active part of the GT SV EU&AF management team. Strongly support service activities on GT portfolio for Southern Africa, meaning South Africa and the region South East Africa. Continuous learning in a fast‑paced and growing business. Engaging in the energy transition and the fast‑paced growing grid technologies sector. Being an active part of the Grid Technologies Service Western Europe and Africa Management Team. Developing end‑to‑end responsibilities from strategy to sales and execution in a multicultural team. What You Bring Education in Engineering is a must, additionally Business Administration, Finance, Economics, and/or Management. Experience in leading a P&L organization. Experience in acquisition, sales, negotiation. Proven experience of at least 5 years in Transmission business, operating role. Excellent stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels. Leadership experience in international teams and managing multiple interfaces. A strong set of personal skills that support building a network, developing people, culture, and organization combined with a mindset of proactiveness, innovation, and teamwork. Eagerness to consistently meet and exceed commitments/objectives while taking ownership of complex challenges. Willingness to travel locally and internationally as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Significant Knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution market and service. Profound technical Knowledge of Transmission Grid, technology, products.
