Job Description The Field Engineer Intern/Graduate role is designed for a post‑studies, pre‑career individual to join multi‑disciplined project teams and focus on supporting mission‑critical voice and data systems for the Sub‑Saharan Africa (SSA) region. The role's entry‑level scope is intended to start with radio repair for training before gradually moving into field services. This position is critical for supporting Motorola digital radio communication systems in the region. Key Responsibilities As an entry‑level engineer, you will focus on smaller projects or elements of larger system deployments, ensuring the delivery of managed services to our customers. Deployment and Support: Provide technical support for the deployment of projects. Proactively work to detect and resolve deviations from the design in a timely manner. Develop and/or execute test strategies and plans to ensure solutions work as designed and requirements are fulfilled. Quality and Compliance: Adhere to all applicable processes and maintain accurate records. Ensure all systems meet established quality and security standards. Manage and close open technical issues to the customer's satisfaction. Knowledge and Collaboration: Maintain an excellent working knowledge of public safety applications, solutions, and services. Proactively share knowledge and support colleagues to enhance team competencies. Education and Technical Qualifications Required Degree: A BSc or similar degree as a Graduate engineer from an accredited college or university. Discipline: A Degree, H.N.C, or equivalent in a Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline. Background: Strong foundation and background in communications solutions, applications, and architectures and/or in finance, accounting, or business administration. Essential Knowledge and Skills In‑depth understanding of Public Safety applications and solutions. Good communication skills and the confidence required to present solutions to customers and users. Familiarity with complex project integration, including interface definition, IP, and Transmission design/implementation. Experience of a technical environment typically associated with an undergraduate degree in a technical field. Desired Attributes (Soft Skills) Team player with a flexible and positive attitude. Self‑motivated and able to take ownership of allocated tasks. Organized approach to working, with attention to detail and forward planning. Commercial awareness and sensitivity to customer needs. Ability to build inter‑personnel relationships.
