Programme Details Position: Brand Management Intern Duration: 12‑Month Internship Programme Location: Cape Town, South Africa Start Date: Immediate Eligibility: Open to South African citizens only Stipend: Monthly stipend offered Relocation: Relocation support is not offered for this opportunity What You’ll Gain Exposure to end‑to‑end brand management within a multinational FMCG organisation Hands‑on experience supporting real commercial and brand initiatives Development of foundational skills in marketing execution, project coordination, and data‑driven analysis Exposure to PMI governance, compliance, and ways of working Opportunities to strengthen communication, presentation, and collaborator engagement capabilities A hybrid working model (3 days in‑office and 2 days’ work‑from‑home) Exposure to a globally recognised Top Employer organisation The opportunity to build your professional network and accelerate your career growth What You’ll Be Doing Brand & Marketing Support Supporting the execution of approved brand and marketing plans Assisting with presentations, reporting packs, and brand performance updates Gathering market data, competitor activity, and consumer insights to support brand reviews Developing an understanding of how brand strategies are performed within PMI frameworks Innovation & Project Support Supporting product and packaging projects through coordination and documentation activities Assisting with artwork reviews, presentation development, and internal project forums Supporting submissions within the PMI Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system Tracking project timelines, actions, and deliverables Commercial Execution Support Supporting implementation of the Commercial Plan through project coordination activities Assisting with marketing support material planning and Trade Marketing coordination Monitoring in‑market execution against approved plans and brand guidelines Engaging with internal team members and external agency partners Market Intelligence & Analysis Monitoring brand and market performance through internal reporting and external researchSupporting analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks Chipping into insight summaries used in planning and review discussions Budget & Operational Support Supporting tracking of Direct Marketing Expenses and Trade & Selling Expenses Assisting with invoice tracking, reconciliations, and internal reporting Gaining exposure to PMI budget governance processes, including OB and RF cycles Who We’re Looking For Bring energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset Have a strong interest in brand management, marketing, and FMCG Are adaptable and comfortable in a constantly evolving environment Take initiative and enjoy solving problems Want to learn quickly and make a significant impact Work well with people and communicate confidently Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail Minimum Requirements Completed National Diploma or bachelor’s degree (non‑negotiable) Maximum of 2 years working experience Fluent in English (written and spoken) Must be available to start immediately Ability to commit to a full‑time 12‑month internship programme Experience using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Advantageous Honours or Master’s Degree Previous exposure within Sales, Marketing, Brand Management, FMCG, or Commercial environments Skills & Behavioural Capabilities Strong learning agility and curiosity Good written and verbal communication skills Basic analytical and problem‑solving ability Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment Proactive approach to learning and contributing Why Join PMI?
