As part of your portfolio as Manager: Payments Architecture and Strategy , you will be: Responsible for driving the architecture, solution design, and strategic evolution of MTN Group Fintech’s payments ecosystem across closed-loop and open-loop payment environments. Responsible to assess the current payments architecture landscape and design scalable, secure, cost‑effective, and future‑fit payment solutions aligned to business strategy, customer experience ambitions, regulatory requirements, and technology roadmaps. The role is accountable for shaping the end‑to‑end architecture for payment systems, payment gateways, interoperability solutions, and digital transaction flows across multiple channels and use cases. The incumbent will provide architecture leadership across a broad payments ecosystem that includes digital wallets, super apps, mini apps, embedded finance services, QR payments, pay by link, card and bank integrations, real‑time payments, mobile money, and merchant ecosystems. The role will also support the design of platforms and integration patterns that enable partner onboarding, API‑led ecosystems, reusable payment services, and secure high‑volume transaction processing across Group Fintech and its operating markets. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, architecture discipline, and a deep understanding of the evolving payments, digital commerce, and fintech landscape. The incumbent must have the following: Minimum 4-year academic degree with honours in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing, or related field Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for the role, e.g. TOGAF Minimum 5–7 years’ relevant experience in payments, digital platforms, fintech, telecommunications, or related technology environments Strong experience in payments systems, payments integration, architecture design, and technical solution design Experience in integration and orchestration, functional architecture design, technical solution design, software engineering, business analysis, and risk / quality management Experience with payment gateways, processors, banking systems, mobile money platforms, fintech aggregators, and interoperable payment environments Experience working with Agile delivery and DevOps / Development Operations frameworks What will give an edge to your application: Certifications or training in payments architecture, cloud architecture, API design, solution architecture, PCI‑DSS, or digital wallet / platform ecosystems Experience designing or integrating digital wallet platforms, super app ecosystems, embedded finance services, or merchant payment ecosystems Understanding of emerging markets #J-18808-Ljbffr
