Responsibilities Risk Management: Conduct an in‑depth, specialised and quality credit assessment and risk analysis on potential and Growth Portfolio, and monitor client’s performance on a continuous basis for risk indicators. Perform formal reviews at specified intervals and escalate changes to Line Management and Credit if necessary. Adhere to ARMS credit requirements as stipulated in the Absa credit policy. Monitor and report boundary events in terms of the Operational Risk Boundary. Obtain input from Product Industry Specialist to assist in client solutioning and credit application process. Identify the need for meetings between high‑risk clients, Credit and Business Support. Request updated valuations on properties serving as security for facilities in line with Absa Credit policies. Manage and communicate risks associated with outstanding securities. Pro‑actively identify problematic/high‑risk clients and advise Credit; manage them with input to implement loss preventative measures (e.g., EWL Reports). Request and manage outstanding Financial Statements as stipulated in the Absa Credit policy. Action and manage daily Odex, Referrals, REPL and REPC. Contact clients on the referral listing for rectification. Credit Management: Explore new and improved ways to meet client credit requirements. Ensure compliance with Bank policies and report policy breaches with mitigation. Provide bank codes and reports on clients. Pro‑actively manage credit risks within the portfolio and drive the deal forum process to ensure quality applications with sustainable credit solutions. Portfolio Financial and Operational Management: Compile reviews, amendments and new applications to lending authorities. Issue facility letters after reviews and new facilities are granted. Send reminders for facility expiries (e.g., 30-, 60-, 90‑day letters). Contribute to Non‑Interest Income by recovering manual fees to avoid revenue leakage. Risk Modeling: Spread client financials on Credit Risk Grading models (e.g., Agri Model, RiskCalc Model, Triad) and provide Default Grading (DG) output. Capture all information in risk models accurately and ensure balance across models. Client Solutioning and Customer Service: Identify cross‑sell opportunities from analysis of client financials and industry trends. Attend sales best practice sessions, provide credit input to mitigate risk, monitor the sales funnel until a deal is converted. Conduct industry research to understand profitability, trends, and competitors. Teamwork and Self Development: Attend team meetings, develop relationships, communicate concerns constructively, maintain regulatory knowledge, and participate in available L&D courses. Align with ABSA’s values and vision. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce and Management Studies, Credit Risk with five years or more of relevant work experience. Strong computer skills, especially Excel. Agricultural Credit Analysis experience (Advantageous). Education: Bachelor’s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required).
