At Source86, we’re building the backbone of the global food supply chain, helping our partners source, move, and deliver the world’s best ingredients with clarity, speed, and service that actually feels human. We sweat the small stuff, act like true partners, and solve the “86 moments” in our customers’ supply chains with transparency and precision. We are seeking a high‑potential, newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to join our fi team as a Accounting & Financial Manager. This role is ideal for a driven professional looking to move beyond pure reporting into a commercial, decision‑support‑focused finance role with real exposure to leadership, operations, and strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership and gain hands‑on experience across financial reporting, forecasting, controls, and business partnering. Your Impact in This Role At Source86, this newly qualified CA(SA) Accounting & Financial Manager will be the backbone that turns numbers into decisions, giving leadership clean visibility on runway, margin, and cash so we grow with control, not hope. You’ll raise the bar on reporting, controls, and forecasting while partnering with operations to remove friction, protect profitability, and build repeatable rhythms that scale globally. In a business where small details drive big shifts, your work directly improves speed, accountability, and confidence across the System. Key Responsibilities Own the month‑end close and management reporting cadence: ensure accurate, on‑time management accounts with clear commentary on drivers, risks, and actions (not just numbers). Run the forecasting rhythm: lead budget / reforecast cycles, scenario planning, and cash runway visibility; surface “so what” insights for leadership decisions. Drive profitability intelligence: analyze margin, cost‑to‑serve, pricing/discounting and working‑capital levers; recommend corrective actions and track impact. Strengthen the control environment: design and maintain fit‑for‑scale finance controls, policies, and documentation that reduce errors, rework, and surprises. Lead audit, statutory, and tax readiness: coordinate inputs, timelines, and stakeholder alignment to deliver clean audits and compliant filings with minimal disruption. Business partner cross‑functionally: translate finance into operational trade‑offs, challenge assumptions, and enable faster decisions with Sales, Sourcing, and Supply Chain. Build systems that scale: improve tooling, automation, and dashboards (Airtable/Looker/Excel) to increase visibility, accountability, and decision speed across the business. We hire for Excellence, Acumen, and Service and we expect to go beyond “doing the task” and start shaping how the work is done. Qualifications newly qualified CA(SA) (0–2 years post‑articles), with articles completed at Big 4 or mid‑tier firms. A strong technical accounting and reporting base , with high standards for accuracy, controls, and documentation. Advanced Excel capability; comfortable learning/using finance systems and tools (bonus if you’ve worked with ERPs, BI, or automation). A sharp analytical mindset , you spot patterns, drivers, and risks, and you can translate them into practical actions. Clear, confident communication with non‑financial stakeholders , you simplify complexity and influence decisions. Proactive ownership and curiosity , you don’t wait to be asked; you learn fast and improve what’s not working. A “finance as a business partner ” profile, motivated to grow into a senior finance leader and excited to understand how the business truly makes money, not just how to close the books. Nice‑to‑Haves Experience with private label, R&D projects, or complex technical approvals . Familiarity with AI tools, CRMs, or collaboration tools to speed up analysis and communication. Prior experience in a remote, global team . Remote, global team we’re fully distributed and work across multiple time zones. Contractor model , 40 hours per week , with flexibility to overlap with U.S. and global customer hours and other team members. We care about results, clear communication, and being good humans not about you being online 24/7. We expect you to manage your energy, communicate boundaries, and act with ownership. If you want to grow your career, work on complex food supply chains, and be part of a team that values progress, Ubuntu, and sweating the details, we’d love to meet you.
