Purpose of role The role of Clinical Psychologist will involve conducting psychological assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and preparing expert witness reports for a range of legal proceedings. Duties and responsibilities & Qualifications Degree in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent recognized by the HPCSA) Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCSA) At least 3 years post-qualification experience Formal training and experience in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Experience across a wide range of case types including Clin Neg, serious injury, disability, criminal and mental capacity is desirable. Demonstrated experience in delivering CBT interventions to diverse client groups. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build therapeutic relationships based on trust and respect. Excellent oral & written evidence are essential. Good technical knowledge and experience. Strong written and verbal presentation skills. Open mindedness; being able to consider new evidence and opinions Analytical; able to marshal, consider, and assess evidence from various sources. Independence of thought. Participation in case conferences. Ability to deliver an impartial, compliant, well-constructed, and comprehensible Expert Witness Report essential A foundation of Psych practice from/on which expert opinion will be based Giving oral evidence in court. Strong understanding of ethical and legal frameworks governing therapeutic practice in the UK. Competence in preparing structured medico-legal reports will be advantageous, but training will be provided. Knowledge of an experts duty under CPR p35 and PD 35 advantageous, but training will be provided. Adheres to high professional standards in terms of respect, competence, responsibility and integrity.
