Position Overview A detail-oriented Junior Accountant will support the finance function across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, reconciliations, reporting, and general finance administration while working closely with operational and QA teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. Applicants must already be based in Cape Town. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30. Position Responsibilities Accounts Receivable Process customer invoices accurately and timeously Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts Assist with debtor reporting and collections processes Resolve billing queries and discrepancies Accounts Payable Capture supplier invoices and ensure correct approvals Prepare payment reconciliations and supplier payments Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies Maintain accurate creditor records and filing systems Ensure compliance with internal financial controls General Finance Duties Assist with monthly reconciliations and reporting Support audits and financial reviews Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation Assist with finance administration and ad‑hoc tasks Load payments on the bank account Work closely with operational and QA teams to ensure process accuracy and compliance Candidate Qualifications Required Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes Strong MS Excel skills Experience with accounting software or ERP systems advantageous Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment Nice to Have Previous experience in a BPO/shared services environment Exposure to Quality Assurance or compliance‑driven operations Knowledge of South African accounting practices and VAT processes Skills & Competencies Strong numerical and analytical ability High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and within a team Professional communication skills Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Physical Requirements This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office, reach in any direction, raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
