Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Mentor About the assignment We’re looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in South Africa. This assignment seeks to prioritise capacity development through knowledge transfer, mentorship and support for system strengthening. To be considered for this role, you’ll need relevant qualifications and at least 7 years of professional experience in the field of monitoring, evaluation and learning. As a volunteer, you will offer further sustainability of the M&E practices and storytelling beyond the assignment period. About the PartnerOrganisation SECTION 27 is a leading public interest law centre advancing equality and social justice in South Africa. Guided by constitutional principles, the organisation uses the law through advocacy, litigation, legal literacy, research and community mobilisation to promote socio-economic rights, particularly the rights to health care and basic education. SECTION27 has established an M&E system and has been collecting data on key indicators since 2022. Following a review of its Theory of Change in 2024, the organisation developed a results framework aligned with its Strategic Plan to enhance accountability, inform decision-making and strengthen donor confidence. The next phase focuses on building institutional capacity to effectively use the M&E data for learning, reflection and strategic adaption. The support of a volunteer through this phase will be welcomed. About the Australian Volunteers Program The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative.
