We’re looking for a Group Accountant to take ownership of the month-end close process across multiple entities within the Group. This role plays a key part in preparing financial records under IFRS, managing statutory reporting, submitting tax filings, and delivering clear financial insights that support budgeting and investment decisions. You’ll also lead on technical accounting papers, complex transactions, and Group projects —providing guidance to internal teams, auditors, and Directors on accounting implications and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Technical & Project Leadership Lead or support ad hoc finance projects across the Group. Drive the implementation and embedding of new accounting policies, processes, and controls. Manage the technical accounting and group reporting for strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and disposals. Prepare high-quality technical accounting papers and present findings to management and auditors. Stay current with IFRS developments and interpret their impact on the Group. Advise teams on accounting implications of key business decisions. Entity Accounting Manage the full month-end and year-end close for assigned legal entities. Prepare and review monthly P&L, balance sheet, and supporting reconciliations. Complete bank reconciliations and ensure intercompany balances are accurate and settled promptly. Process accruals, provisions, and other key journals. Prepare statutory financial statements and liaise with auditors. Support the monthly Group consolidation and reporting process. Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies. Qualifications & Experience Qualified Chartered Accountant (SAICA). Proven experience in Group finance roles with exposure to multi‑jurisdictional entities and intercompany transactions. Experience within financial services preferred. Knowledge of international tax environments advantageous. Skills & Attributes Strong technical accounting knowledge and IFRS expertise. Experience using ERP systems; Microsoft Business Central exposure an advantage. Exceptional attention to detail, analytical rigor, and organizational skills. Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving ability. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams. Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
