About the role We're looking for a detail-oriented and eager Junior Finance Intern to join us. You'll support our finance and operations functions, get hands-on exposure to real financial data, and build practical skills in bookkeeping, reporting, and financial administration. Responsibilities: Assisting with capturing and reconciling financial transactions in accounting software. Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports and summaries. Processing and tracking invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims. Helping maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable. Assisting with payroll data checks and timesheet reviews. Supporting month-end and year-end close activities. Contributing to budgeting and forecasting support tasks as directed. Documenting financial processes and maintaining organised filing systems. Flagging discrepancies or anomalies in financial data for review. Participating in team meetings and contributing to operational improvement discussions. Minimum Requirements South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES Programme before. Matric. Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel able to work with formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling numerical data. Good communication proactive, asks questions, flags issues early. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Eagerness to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks. Nice to Have Exposure to accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks. Understanding of South African tax basics (VAT, PAYE).
