Introduction We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Construction Planner to develop, monitor, and report on project schedules for wind farms, solar PV plants, substations, and infrastructure projects . Based in Johannesburg with some travel to sites, the planner will support project teams during the tendering, planning, execution, and close-out phases, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with contractual milestones. This role requires strong proficiency in construction scheduling software , with preference given to candidates familiar with CCS SitePlan , MS project and other industry-standard tools. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules for both tendering and execution phases, aligned with contractual milestones, deliverables, and critical path activities for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to gather schedule inputs and ensure realistic, integrated timelines to integrate discipline-specific inputs into a unified master schedule. Monitor progress and update baseline schedules to reflect actual performance, variations, and delays. Produce and maintain resource histograms of labour and equipment requirements across the project timeline. Produce weekly and monthly progress reports , dashboards, and look-ahead schedules for internal and external stakeholders. Identify schedule risks , delays, and deviations; propose mitigation measures and recovery plans. Generate cash flow forecasts based on schedule progress, procurement plans, and cost phasing to support financial planning and reporting. Support claims and extension-of-time (EOT) submissions by providing time impact analyses and supporting documentation. Participate in planning workshops, coordination meetings, and progress reviews. Ensure all schedules comply with contract requirements and client reporting standards. Desired Experience & Qualification Required Qualifications & Experience: National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in either Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction planning/scheduling, preferably in renewable energy , infrastructure sectors or EPC environments. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as, and CCS SitePlan (preferred), MS Projects , and Primavera P6 . Experience working on wind, solar PV, substation , and/or infrastructure projects a preference. Strong knowledge of project execution methodologies, construction workflows, and interdependencies. Ability to interpret project drawings, technical documents, and contracts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to present schedule information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Attributes: Familiarity with EPC project delivery models and fast-track construction environments. Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress measurement techniques. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Experience working in multi-disciplinary project environments. Familiarity with schedule risk analysis.
