We are looking for a Development Forensic Engineer, Electrical to join Sedgwick's Environmental Forensic Investigations team in South Africa. Job Location : South AfricaJob Type : PermanentRemuneration : Competitive salary based on skills, experience and qualifications Responsibilities Advise on the end‑to‑end management of environmental incidents, supporting insurance and commercial clients. Apply early‑career electrical engineering experience to investigations involving electrical faults, fire damage, plant failures and equipment losses. Conduct site inspections, document evidence, record conditions and collect technical data such as drawings, test results and maintenance records. Assess failures and damage using established engineering principles and regulations, supporting evidence‑based conclusions. Produce concise technical reports for insurers, loss adjusters and clients, subject to review. Maintain organized records, manage documentation, engage with stakeholders and respond to technical queries while supporting the Lead Forensic Engineer and wider team delivery. Qualifications BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a solid understanding of electrical principles, installations and distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and technical documentation. Structured analytical approach to supporting fault analysis and incident investigation under supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical findings. Detail‑focused and methodical, capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining accurate technical records. Demonstrated responsibility for work, strong work ethic, IT proficiency and a commitment to ongoing learning.
