Requirements Alignment with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), including working hours, shift patterns, overtime, and leave provisions Compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA) where applicable to payroll practices Verification of PAYE calculations in line with the Income Tax Act Review of all statutory submissions and compliance requirements with SARS (EMP201, EMP501, IRP5s) UIF and SDL contribution accuracy and compliance 2. Payroll Processing and Controls Review of payroll processes, controls, and approval structures Payroll reconciliation processes (payroll to bank and general ledger) Accuracy of earnings, deductions, and net pay calculations Review of onboarding, terminations, and payroll changes Review of earnings and deduction codes Validation of tax and statutory configurations Leave, overtime, and benefit configuration within the system Assessment of reporting accuracy and system utilisation 4. Overtime and Working Hours Compliance Verification of overtime calculations and applicable rates Correct computation of reduced working hours and the impact on leave and sick leave Compliance with BCEA overtime limits Treatment of Sunday and public holiday work Review of pay simulations and calculation accuracy Alignment between timesheets/rosters and payroll 5.
