The ideal candidate is deeply skilled in Figma-based website design and comfortable building out websites on Shopify and WordPress. You bring both creative flair and structured thinking to every project, and you thrive working directly with clients. Your Skills & Experience 2+ years experience in a web design role, from concept through to execution Figma is your happy place - pixel-perfect layouts, component libraries, auto-layout, the works Experience designing websites for WordPress and Shopify (Bonus points if you can build on these platforms too) Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for asset prep and image editing Ability to build high-quality, responsive layouts with smooth interactions, transitions and animations. Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and modular, reusable design systems Awareness of web performance best practices, accessibility and basic SEO standards Experience with cross-browser and device testing Proficiency with Google Workspace, ClickUp and Slack Excellent written and verbal communication skills A solid, high-speed internet connection at home for remote working Your own, reliable transport Bonus Points If You Have… Hyper-organised Figma file structure and naming conventions that would make any developer stand in awe Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3/SCSS and basic JavaScript - enough to communicate fluently with developers Experience with Elementor and WordPress page builders You can fly Your Responsibilities Design websites end-to-end: sitemapping, wireframing, style tiles, and full Figma mockups (sitemapping is always supported by a project manager) Build websites on Shopify and WordPress for clients across a variety of industries Collaborate closely with clients throughout projects - from discovery through to launch Present work to clients and translate non-technical requests into clear design and development scope Work alongside our web team and partner agencies Create reusable UI components and design templates Perform digital retouching, basic image editing, icons / svg creation and asset preparation Ensure website quality through cross-browser and device testing Maintain project progress in ClickUp and communicate status to key stakeholders Build strong, lasting relationships with clients and team members Contribute to process improvements, proposals and agency growth strategies Your Personal Strengths A genuine eye for great web design - you notice when something is off and you know how to fix it Organised, methodical and obsessively detail-oriented Great communicator with clients and team members alike Proactive problem solver who doesn’t wait to be told what needs doing Passionate about design excellence and continuous improvement Team player who believes in sharing knowledge and being transparent Eager to learn, explore and grow Logistics Position: Full-time Start Date: As soon as the right person is identified Interview Process: 2 virtual interviews + 1 in-person (Meet the Team) + Skills Assessment Location: Cape Town-based.
